CPA3

carboxypeptidase A3 (mast cell)

Three different forms of human pancreatic procarboxypeptidase A have been isolated. The A3 form, is obtained as a binary complex of a procarboxypeptidase A with a proproteinase E. Mast cell carboxypeptidase A is a secretory granule metalloexopeptidase that has a pH optimum in the neutral to basic range. It resembles pancreatic carboxypeptidase A in cleaving COOH-terminal aromatic and aliphatic amino acid residues.

Gene Name: carboxypeptidase A3 (mast cell)
Family/Subfamily: Exopeptidase , Metallopeptidase M14
Synonyms: CPA3, Carboxypeptidase A3, Mast cell carboxypeptidase A, MC-CPA, Tissue carboxypeptidase A
Target Sequences: NM_001870 NP_001861.2 P15088
