IL22

interleukin 22

IL-22 a member of the IL-10 family of cytokines, which also includes IL-19, IL-20, IL-24, and IL-26, a class of potent mediators of cellular inflammatory responses. IL-22 is produced by activated DC and T cells and initiates innate immune responses against bacterial pathogens especially in epithelial cells such as respiratory and gut epithelial cells.

Gene Name: interleukin 22
Family/Subfamily: Interleukin
Synonyms: IL22, Cytokine Zcyto18, ILTIF, Interleukin 22, IL-22, IL-D110, TIFIL-23, Zcyto18, IL-TIF, Interleukin-22
Target Sequences: NM_020525 NP_065386.1 Q9GZX6
