Neuropeptide FF 2 Receptor (NPFF2) is a a GPCR with high affinity for NPAF and NPFF, and which is also weakly activated by FMRF-amide (Phe-Met-Arg-Phe-amide) and a variety of related peptides. NPFF2 is expressed in brain regions associated with opiate activity, consistent with the pain-modulating activity of these peptides, and in adipose tissue, suggesting other physiological and pathophysiological activities for FMRF-amide neuropeptides (Elshourbagy et al, 2000). Four isoforms are produced by alternative splicing.
